With the official opening of the new Scala Cinema, Theatre and Arts centre at 5pm tonight, what better time for dedicated member and local historian Fred Hobbs and Friends of the Scala to launch there new book detailing the history of the cinema before it became the Scala, Saronie and his life.

Fred has put a tremendous amount of hours writing and researching the Scala and its past. He will be at the Scala from 11 am today with the Friends selling and signing his book.

The limited edition books are on sale for 5.99 pop down and get one to enjoy and a keepsake of the old Scala.
