Scala funding secured
The final pieces of the funding jigsaw for the £3.4m Scala project, Prestatyn is now in place.
The Scala was closed six years ago due to structural problems, and since then Denbighshire and its partners, including Prestatyn Town Council, have been working together to put a funding package together.
Cllr Sue Roberts, Cabinet Lead Member for Promoting Denbighshire: “I am delighted to finally confirm at last that all the funding is now available for us to start on this extremely important project in Prestatyn. The contract will be let shortly, with a start being made on site in March.”Cllr Sharon Frobisher, Mayor of Prestatyn, said: “The Scala cinema is a landmark in Prestatyn which means a great deal to the town and its residents, and has a long and rich history. Prestatyn Town Council’s contribution to the project is a critical piece of the funding for the Scala. We are delighted to be associated with this vital scheme.”

Just came here to post this welcome news myself!
Its certainly been a long time coming and without Prestatyn Town Council's investment, I'm sure DCC would have binned the Scala last October/November.
Woohoo!
